Does anyone collect WW2 Cinderella stamps? If so, could you share some of the stamps in your collection. Are cinderella stamps and poster stamps the same?

I don't collect Cinderella stamps but may have a few lying around. Are WW2 Cinderellas something you are collecting? |

Poster stamps are a type of Cinderella that depicts a place or event. The terms are quite often used interchangeably. |

Mark Warda's "Political Campaign Stamps" has over 20 pages devoted to WWI and WWI Cinderella stamps. |

You need to make some kind of limits to your WWII Cinderella stamps .....India fund raising ,Italy breakups due to political groups, Switzerland Soldier stamps , Hitler Head overprints ,American Military ensignors , I can give you another 50 subjects that would be included . |

Yes, the topic may be too broad to be effectively done in the manner proposed. If it were just allies, axis or neutral nations cinderellas it might work. There was a great deal of philatelic propaganda produced during that time. |

The closest thing I have to a WWII cinderella is a poster stamp advertising the "32a Universala Kongreso de Esperanto" in Marseille, 3-10 August 1940, which was cancelled because of the war. The congress eventually took place in Bern in 1947; I have a poster stamp for that one, too. |

One of my favourite Malta cinderellas is this gratitude label. It was issued on 28 April 1941, and it was distributed free of charge from post offices in Malta and Gozo. It is quite common either mint or used, and it usually sells for around €5 to €10. Covers are scarcer and sell for higher prices. |

@erilaz I would like to complete my grand-mothers collection of Universal Esperanto Congress cinderellas. You are the only person I found who speaks about a cinderella from Marseille 1940 Universal congres that never took place. You said in this forum: "The closest thing I have to a WWII cinderella is a poster stamp advertising the "32a Universala Kongreso de Esperanto" in Marseille, 3-10 August 1940, which was cancelled because of the war." I'd like to buy that stamp and ask about the availability of this cinderellas. I'd like to know the prices and terms of purchase. I found this cinderella only on the website of an Austrian museum at https://www.bildarchivaustria.at/Pa...ldID=9973711 URL Many thanks for your reply and all my best regards! even here I didn't find the cinderella mentioned https://www.ebay.de/itm/s612-ESPERA...302415490082 |

I already responded to stampfan1980 by e-mail, but for the benefit of the rest of the forum, here's a scan of the cinderella in question: I got it on eBay in 2012 for about $4 (shipping included). It's listed as number 339 in the Glumarkoj section of Richard Hirsch's Katalogo de la Tuta Esperanto-Filatelio, and it also appears on this webpage: https://alphabetilately.org/Esperanto/intl.html |

I bought the catalog about 20 years ago through the Libroservo of the Universala Esperanto-Asocio, but their website indicates that it is no longer available: http://katalogo.uea.org/katalogo.php?inf=3982It was self-published, and the author apparently died in 2013, so it's probably very hard to find, like so much specialized philatelic literature. |

@erilaz Can you tell me what is in that catalog about this specific Cinderella? You mentioned "number 339 in the Glumarkoj section"? I would be very thankful if you describe to me what do you know about it.
I did find the all website you mentioned but I always get back to you and your previous posts.
In 1939 the congress was held in Bern, Switzerland. One year after in 1940 they planned be be held in Marseille, France which is eventually CANCELLED and they did not organize it until the year 1947 when the congress again held back in Bern, Switzerland!
This makes this Cinderella in my opinion very special. There was about 7 years of without the Congress while as mentioned in 1940 they issued the Cinderella.
In the whole history of the Congress the event is only two times is cancelled, one is due to WWI in 1914 and the other in 1940 due to WWII! It is so rare that only 3 photos I have seen about it. One is your, one is the Museum's and the other I seen as sold back in 2015.
How many of this Cinderella has been made? Why it is so rare? Do you have information about the previous owner of your Cinderella?
I really wish to have it. I think is very special. Please if you know more about than share it with me and the public. Probably only you have that Catalog. Can you tell me additional information you know about this Cinderella?
Thank you!
