Hello and thank you for being so kind as to ready my post

I have several 1035 3 cent Liberty stamps with a double vertical line (that almost looks like a pre-cancel line) but I have no idea why or what this is? I have been searching this out for a week - can't find anything! Any help would be so much appreciated! Thank you!

I vote for "Not a precancel"

I think it is highly likely your stamps were affixed sideways and then soaked from a first day cover, or less likely from a cover with a lined killer, such as the examples below.

I think you're right on John. If you look at the last stamp in the row it still has some of the lettering on it

Thanks - I was actually thinking the same thing, but I have over 200 of this type of "cancel". Not quite sure what to make of it...
