I have several Racine L-2 precancels and I am trying to distinguish those that are classified as the type "Small 2" in the PSS catalog. There are several scans attached.

The first is for the "1-02" type. I am fairly certain the one on the left is a regular 2, and the one on the right is a "Small 2". If anyone can confirm this for me it would be helpful.

The next picture are three of the "5-02" type. Are the two on the left "Small 2" and the one on the right a regular "2"?

The next (4-02)I am not sure of. The one on the left seems to have a smaller 2 but not that much smaller.

And the 8-02 (last set), both look regular, I think, although the one on the right may be smaller.

Any help or experience identifying this sub-type would be appreciated. Thx.

it is probably related to the pressure of the printing. the c and ns of Wisconsin show similar variations.
