Does anyone know of lists showing the zip, mail early and copyright
blocks. I have been using the White Ace albums, but do not know how complete they are.

Scott's U.S. Specialized will list the plate block and mail early block for each stamp, as applicable, but a complete list of plate blocks requires the Durland Plate Block catalog. You can find it from most stamp dealers or online at the United States Stamp Society website, as they publish and maintain it. Mail Early blocks are not compiled in a listing that I'm aware of, but someone else may know of one. I'm not sure what you are referring to with Copyright blocks, unless you mean the more recent (last 30 years or so) when items were no longer produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, but by private contractors to the USPS.

Thank you. Beginning in 1978, some blocks had "C United States Postal Service 1978" printed in the salvage margin.
are these stamps printed by private contractors?

No, not that early. Private contractors started somewhere around 2000

The 1988 65 cent Hap Arnold stamp in the Great American series had a copyright notice dated 1986 in the selvedge margin. Go figure.

Maybe relatedly, USPS publicity photos have copyright notations as well. I don't know how far back, or when that started, though.

So bottom line of this discussion was that besides using Scott catalog as reference source there is no source that provides a Comprehensive listing of all the zip/mail early block positions that can be collected?

Private contractors began to regularly supply a small portion of commemoratives in 1979 with the John Paul Jones issue with the famous three different perfs.

There is probably no one else who maintains a complete list of ZIP and Mail Early blocks in a database other than myself.
