Just for fun.

In many cases when talking about what is wrong with something (anything) the following lines are commonly used: "it is not what is used to be" and "change adapt or be left behind".

It can also be said "the more things change the more things stay the same." Take for example these cartoons extracted from the "Stamp Album" - monthly newsletter of the Confederate Philatelist (dates from August 1956). I dare say that some of these "familiar birds" represent members of this very community. Please no comparisons unless you wish to self identify.

Basic human nature hasn't changed in tens of thousands of years. That's as true for philatelists as it is anywhere else.
