I use the Mysic Heirloom Stamp Album for my US mint collection. Each binder is 2", which is thicker than I like my binder to be. So I broke up each binder into smaller 1" binders.

Volume II contains US stamps from 1954-1984. Today, I mounted the last 3 stamps needed to fill that album. For the first time in my 50 years on this planet, I actually have a stamp collecting binder that's actually FULL.

I lucked out with the last one too. I needed the $9.35 1983 US Express mail stamp. I found an eBay seller that was selling it for face value.

Move on to the 1985-1995 binder and get that one filled up. What else? :-)

Congratulations! I have my Scott Minuteman split into three binders (1847–1979; 1980–1999; 2000–2005+BOB), and I've almost filled volume 2. There's just one pricey space in it that remains empty. (Hint: I can see the design on this very page!)

I actually miss my Minuteman album. I used to have one back in the 80s. When I got back into the hobby, buying all the supplements was way too expensive to bring it up to date. It as cheaper to just buy the Heirloom than buy all the supplements.

I totally get that. At one point, when I had neglected to buy supplements for a number of years, I found it cheaper to buy a whole new Minuteman album than to buy the necessary supplements.

I stopped collecting new U.S. issues (apart from things of topical interest) in 2005, and the cost of album supplements was a factor in that decision.

I have a Mystic U.S. album now, too, and the supplements have been very affordable compared to other albums. And so far, I've expanded the original 3 binders to 6. I've been very happy with it.

I find the easiest way to fill a volume is to have lots of volumes. With today's USA junk stamps, all you need is five years of junk stamps (stickers, really) and, presto, your volume is complete!

Where I live, you can get the 9.35 express stamps for 1 or 2 bucks mint. Nobody here wants them. You can obtain an Harris 121 for 25 bucks. While on eBay they cost 100+ dollars. I recently picked up a $5 columbus stamp for 50$ used.
