More teatime in Japan, this pot looks cold with all those drips of condense water - also the glasses suggest a cold drink, but I don't know what it is. 2013

Klaus (Germany)
Tania received your Cover and Teapot stamps, for Christmas, and was apparently delighted.
I put it in a box of old white teapots I had in the attic.

So Merry Christmas to you, thanks for your generosity.

A beautiful painting by Theo van Rysselberghe (1862-1926) of his wife and daughter at tea time. The child looks utterly bored, I wonder if she had to sit still while her mother is absorbed in reading. Belgium, 2013, part of a set featuring this artist.

Do you also have "Tea in the garden", another issue from the same booklet?

Another stamp from the Belgian set featuring paintings by Theo van Rysselberghe shows another teatime - out in the sunny afternoon garden. The 1 in a circle indicates the denomination for national mail, forever stamps.

(Hi Crows, Glad you like them - the stamps themselves have very soft colors, so I cut out the pots from scans of the original found on the web. K.)

Taiwan China issued a set of four stamps featuring heavy-looking tea pots in 1989. This one is fairly flat and made of yellow pottery clay.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to read the text?

Regarding the teapot from Japan posted by Kris on Jan 3, 2019. I do believe it is showing iced tea,the reason for the condensate beads of water on the pot and glasses.
