These are stamps were applied by an affixing machine produced by the Schermack Mailing Machine Company. That name was later changed to Mailometer.

Stamps were provided in coils of 3000. Envelopes were fed through the machine, where the stamps were cut from the coil, moistened and affixed to the envelope at rates up to 250 envelopes per minute. The slots on the sides of the stamp were used by the machine to feed the stamps through this process.

These machines were used by large volume mailers of the early 1900s. They reached their peak usage by around 1914, with the company perforating millions of stamps per month. Usage gradually declined and the company produced their last coils by 1927.

$500 start. Price $1350. You have got to be joking. This is the nonsense that makes eBay a laughingstock. Give me a break.

@kcaramat thanks for that information. And yes I got your message on eBay about the price. I couldn't find the information I needed on them so I just shot a price.

Calm down buddy..not that serious!! Yes my listing was overpriced some of them are. I have a life outside of the hobby which makes it tough for me to seek the information I need to become aware of things thoroughly. I'm sitting on boxes of stamps/coins that I haven't even touched so ease up bro! I'm learning at a pace I can control. This isn't behavior I'd expect From "pillar of the community " instead of bashing first try to help another one understand. I'm not here to argue with anyone at all but I'm no pushover I can promise you that!

Save the outrage. You could not find the information that you needed so you just "shot a price"? If you did not know what you really had and what it was really worth why list them at some silly price. It is nonsense. That being said it is a free market and you can do as you wish. My point really is that if you wish to be taken seriously if you stick around here that type of thing does not help your cause. Not sure why you are angry at me. I did not "bash" you. I voiced my opinion at the silly listing. Overpriced is an understatement.

To summarize, you do not really know what you have, you list it anyway at a ridiculous price, I note how silly it is and you take umbrage with my "behavior" for expressing it. How rich.
