I found the following precancel but I have dificulties indentifying it:

The bars are 15mm apart, letters 2.5mm high, town and state 3.5mm apart.

Thanks

A past thread: http://goscf.com/t/5808
And here's a great guide: https://precancels.com/wordpress/wp...dium-res.pdf
Is this where you could not identify it?

I bought the PSS town and type catalog (7th edition) but I can't find one like mine listed for Westfield, Mass.

The best way I've found to to this is to go to the city listing. Then, write down the possible types. Next, return to the tables at the front of the volume. Compare your stamp with the types you see until you get a match.

If there are any local listing (these begin with "L"), they are located at the end of the state's city listings.

Good luck with the hunt!

I found this to be helpful here http://www.pssgb.org.uk/glossary.html
Many of these look similar but differ a bit.
