Great Collection, Rod!! and thank you very much for sharing. I love very much Czechoslovakian stamps and keep several art stamps in my engraved art stamps collection. If some day I will decide to collect new country - sure, Czechoslovakia will be in the top of the list.

Well, Zdenek Burian was a Czech painter and book illustrator who specialized in prehistoric life and human evolution paintings which he published in several books. He didn't design stamps but his designs appear on many stamps depicting prehistoric animals and human evolution all around the world. The 2005 Czech stamp was issued as part of a long series shows Czech art on stamps and this particular stamp shows one of his early painting.
In 1994, the Czech Republic issued a set of three to commemorate Burian and his art:
