I have been finding some good stamps in this box I got: 444, 546, 219d, and more including this 357 bluish. You can see by the following photos that this is indeed a 357. But I have not seen one of these with a precancel on it anyware online: Hipstamp, eBay, Google search... Have you seen one before?

It does not look like a bluish paper to me. 331 or 374 depending upon the watermark. |

The way this post is worded, I was trying to figure out why I was only seeing a black precancel instead of a supposed bluish one.
I also don't see any bluish paper though.

Might be the lighting with the pics. I'm still learning how to adjust the camera. You can tell without comparison. When I first saw the stamp, before I knew anything about bluish paper I thought "this stamp looks blue" In the photos, you can see the precanceled stamp is bluish compared to the other Franklin next to it. |

Scan against an orange background so the gray (it is not really blue) color of the paper will stand out like this (Your stamp isn't a 357) Don |

this "357" will be an embarrassment to somebody if it sells for its ebay asking price (357$) ! |

Reported.
What is the appropriate report category for stuff like this?
1) Listing Practices - Fraudulent Listing Activities - You suspect that a listing is fraudulent
or
2) Prohibited & Restricted Items - Stamps/Currency/Coins - Other Stamp Concerns
??
I used #1. (Does it matter??) |

Ok. You are showing me examples of a bluish stamp and that looks like the same color of mine. This is a bluish grey in color. When I put it up against 8 other stamps, it stands out as being grey. The photos don't do it justice. But I appreciate the feedback anyway. mdroth, there was no reason to report the listing as fraudulent since there was no fraud intended. Ebay never said anything to me about this. However, I took the listing down until I get to the stamp place near my house to verify that it is a 357. Thanks to all the one's who replied with the willingness to help me identify this stamp. This has been a great community. |

Since this is out of my field of expertise, I cannot comment on if this is a bluish paper variety or not. But, I have seen enough of these threads, on here as well as in Facebook groups, to know that if I had one I suspected is a rare variety and there are other common varieties it COULD be, the tendency should be to assume it's the common variety. And IF you truly believe it's the more rare variety then it should be sent to the proper expert for certification. |

Send it in for a cert, if it comes back as a 357 I will pay for the cost of the cert. If it is not a 357, you agreed to stop selling expensive stamps without certs. Deal? Don |

Quote: there was no fraud intended Fraud is fraud...whether intended or not. You're selling a used Yugo & claiming it is a Ferrari. You've been told - by numerous people - who possess in excess of 100 years of experience - that you've got a used Yugo. |
