Rc28 Offered On Ebay (Well, Not Really!)

Probably time for Scott to delist RC27 and RC28.

Interesting that the RC27 realized such a higher realization without a certificate than the RC28 with the APS certificate.

I'd also be interested to find out how the PF determined it was a fake overprint. Looks pretty convincing to me.

The word "DELIVERY" is a camel. It has a hump in the middle.

Also looks like a different font. I don't know the stamp at all, but the Spinks copies look like a sans serif font. The forgery is a serif font. Maybe I'm wrong on the Spinks copies, but it appears that way.

The point is that the Spinks copy IS the counterfeit copy with a fresh cert that changed the original opinion.

It looks like te overprint is on top of the cancel (looking at the L in Delivery and the purple cancel).

I agree with Don. There are legitimate reasons for condition changes to be noted on updated certain including the passage of time and storage conditions, frequent handling and turnover in the interim being in my opinion the most common. Then there is the issue of interagency competition that might lead to an altered opinion. I think the OGPH vs disturbed OG in many cases is artificial. I have never understood the bias displayed against APEX..

One of the ways is that the method used in applying the letters will not be the same as the genuine article.
