These are the green 25 cent Eagle presorted first class stamps of 2012 issue.
untagged. The one on the left is what all of my other stamps of this series looks like, you can see the image clearly under UV. I think bright paper? So what is oging on on the stamp on the right?

I answered your question in your other post. The 2012 Spectrum Eagle exists in two paper types, one will act as if it is tagged.

Peter, you had me briefly confused. I seemed to recall that there was both an untagged & a tagged version of these stamps. But then I realized that my memory was a distant one & could not have been from 2012 ... it had to be earlier. Clearly a different stamp was involved. So I dusted off my catalogue & located the 2003-05 eagles. These had 10 rather than 6 designs and came in 3 varieties, each with a different date. In addition the 2003 variety came in two flavors ... untagged (normal) & tagged (error perhaps?). The 2004 & 2005 versions were both untagged.
For the newer stamps, the Spectrum Eagles, the paper type that reacts to short UV gives the appearance of tagging. But, if I understand you (& the Scott catalogue) correctly, these stamps are in fact untagged, regardless of paper type.
John

Hi Mstocky my 2017 Scotts has the 2015 eagle listed as untagged. Is this an error in the listing? Also can you comment on my topic: Different Colors, Different Catalog Treatment - U590

Hi 3193zd,

I posted an image on a test I did in your other posting to test if the 2015 Spectrum Eagle had an overall coating.
