Envelope of first day issue with an illustration of general Eisenhhouer inspiring the paratroopers that fight in Normandie in 1944. The stamp is detached from a souvernir sheet named '1944 : Road to Victory', that has ten 29c stamps. The illustration of stamp depicts the landing of the paratroopers of the Airborne units, besides a landed glider airplane.

Parachuting is featured on the 600 Bs. value of Bolivia's 1962 set of 4 stamps honoring the nation's armed forces. Stamp is Scott #C241.

The stamp show Enzo Hayyim Sereni (1905-1944) , that was an Italian Zionist, co-founder of kibbutz Givat Brenner, celebrated intellectual, advocate of Jewish-Arab co-existence and a Jewish Brigade officer who was parachuted into Nazi-occupied Italy in World War II, captured by the Germans and executed in Dachau concentration camp. By March 1942, the Japanese invasion of the Philippines had compelled MacArthur to withdraw his forces on Luzon to Bataan, while his headquarters and his family moved to Corregidor. The doomed defense of Bataan captured the imagination of the American public.
