Hello coloformio,

This is a British revenue stamp that was also valid for postage.

Stanley Gibbons list this as SG F12.

The large number 34 in the margin is the plate number.

Thanks, where can I find the approximate market value of this stamp? Apparently it is an imprimatur stamp, would this add value to it?

Thanks

I can't help with the value but you'll get more details in the SG GB Specialised Queen Victoria catalogue.

This stamp should have an anchor watermark.

The issued stamp was perforated.

My old (2004) QV prices imprimaturs of plates 23 - 44 @ 100. Nigel can probably help on how surface-printed prices have moved since then, and what % of SG CV can usually be obtained in the market.
