ah Mr Aldred how fascinating to meet you! A question if you please kind sir? Can you spot your forgeries straight off, and what should one look for, say, if one was to be interested in purchasing such an item?

If it is a stamp off cover it will be on unwatermarked paper. The stamp will be endorsed Michael Aldred Forgery or Facsimile on the reverse in permanent ink. Covers are similarly endorsed on the back. (It is not possible to remove the endorsement without ruining / damaging the stamp or cover.)

Great information and thanks to Michael Aldred for coming to our community and adding his comments. Always great to hear straight from the source. Now I just have to find an example at a reasonable price. Lovely items.
