You are using an anonymous forum handle responding to a topic that is not the primary subject of the forum; expecting others to respect an unknown voice from the dark is not realistic.
As Moderator of the community for a number of years and a person who has to read every post, I did not realize that you had experience in Presidential signatures. New members are quite likely to give every opinion equal weight. If you have recognized expertise in a topic then you might want to add your real name to your posts.

Thanks for posting, you did nothing wrong here. It is not right for anyone to expect you to be able to wade through the anonymous responses and pick out posters who may or may not have significant experience on Presidential signatures.

Thank you for your response Don. Of course, anyone is free to accept or reject my input or comments as they please at any time. I am merely trying to shed light on a subject I know well. It does not matter to me whether you or anyone else accepts that statement as true or not. However, I see no justification for either dismissive or sarcastic comments. Since nobody on this thread appears to know the name of a recognized autograph expert, let me suggest you or the OP contact John Reznikoff of University Archives. He should be more than adequate to address your questions. He may also be able to tell you who funcitypapa is and whether his opinion/knowledge can be trusted.

Since you were willing to do some research earlier, I again recommend checking out through interlibrary loan the presidential autopen autographs book linked to in an earlier post. It's cheaper than $100. Keep a photocopy of the Eisenhower section with the letter as your proof one way or the other.

Whatever you do, I think we'd all like an eventual report back on your findings.

hy-basil: thanks for the nudge. Went to my public library. Librarian did a search and came up with one copy in US libraries, a University library in Indiana (I believe it was Indiana.) An inquiry is being made, and am also asking if the book is not available for loan if they could supply photocopies of the Eisenhower section.

R and R enterprises auction house has an archive of most auctioned items including, if you create an account (free) images of all sold items with prices. Eisenhower being a very common and popular name should have a ton of representative examples in all formats (letters, signed photos, documents etc) and from all stages of his career. Heritage galleries also displays images of its sold items but I suspect will have less examples of DDE

As suggested by funcitypappa I sent an inquiry to John Reznikoff of University archives and a link to this thread.

Postal hysteria: reznikoff is a businessman running a company and auctions of historical documents. It is not a complete shock that he may not have time to deal with your question. Meanwhile, if you took my advice and signed up for RR auction and thus gained access to the past sale archives with images and prices of sold items, you will have zillions of Eisenhower signed letters, photos and documents to compare with. And although you don't respect my opinion, many of these items came with third party authentication.

Ran into this spirited thread so figured i'd add some more fuel to the fire. Similar letter to the one originally posted, just 2 years later. Envelope, stationary, exactly the same (my envelope and letter both light green but scanner washed it out). Big difference is the signatures are very different. Doesn't mean that both aren't real or both aren't autopen. But since the letter style is so similar i'm betting he was pumping out these letters to supporters and they are probably both autopen. (Unless you want to read into "personal regards" as opposed to "best wishes"). As I plan to keep the letter for now I have no plans to pay for it to be reviewed by an expert but my money is on Autopen.

Should have added for context, Louis Marx and Company, was the largest toy company in the world in the 1950s (from wiki) and Irving Squires appears to be a broadway producer.
