Is there any book, pamphlet, or online page that has a short history on each cachet maker or why certain ones have such value. I found a lot on Dorothy Knapp and found her so fascinating, but I'm having a hard time coming up with anything about Ken Boll or Staehle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

.
I suggest that you download the indexes to First Days, the journal of the American FDC Society, and search for articles about the cachetmakers of interest to you.

Then, evaluate whether/not to buy the complete digital archive of the journal, with every issue from 1955 thru 2017.
