Hi

Have more than a few stamps on paper. This one I considered taking off paper but found something on the reverse that may or may not be of philatelic interest. Online search results for Lion Brand lead me to believe it is a postal stationary & paper manufacturer. Meteor Airmail has me stumped. Is it simply a name applied by the manufacturer to this particular brand of envelopes, or is it of more significance?

Yes it is, not many collectors keep (note: Stationery with an "e") envelope material, I do, so very interesting.
I'd keep it.
Meteor Airmail would signify special light weight paper by the company.

Thanks rod.

I've heard of rocket mail, etc... Meteor mail would burn up on delivery.

Rod

Thanks for the link. Downloaded the PDF. Have a number of envelopes but less knowledge of them than I like. Benjamin's work is a great reference. The websites of the envelope industry seem concerned about the impact computer communications have had on their business prospects. They seem to suggest people are switching back to writing letters based on studies conducted by their own industry. Hardly impartial.
