So I have this Scott No. OS1, 1945-6, as Thuringia Issued Under Russian Occupation. I am working in an older, 1940's Scott International Postage Stamp Album and for the life of me I cant find where this would go. The Issued Under Russian Occupation starts at 1948. Anyone familiar with this older album know where this could go? Page missing in album?

I don't think. I have German states, 1800's to German DR 1960's. I've check under Russia and I don't see Thuringia anywhere. Or under the Russian occupation stamps in the Germany section or Russian section. Not sure where this one would be.

The 1940's Scott International only has spaces for about 65% of the world's stamps issued during its run period and appears to be somewhat deficient in the post WW II coverage of the various German states. I do have a 1968 Minkus album that has pages for Thuringia and the stamp in question.

When I was in Germany during my Army days I used to look across the border at the Thuringwald and that stamp pretty much sizes up what we saw.

Those immediate post-WWII Germany Russian Zone occupation issues aren't covered in the 1940's IPSA - Thuringen, East/West Sachsen, etc.

Once again, a wealth of knowledge. Tks! W/o more of these, I just added it to an approximate correct area in the old album. Guessing these is no wrong way to do it ... Loved the examples.
