Opening bids prove nothing. Nor do quotes from politicians convicted of felonies.

Opening bids indicate a floor on the pricing. SAN shows an opening price that increases as bids are entered.

Floors prove nothing in relation to what a lot might bring. Nor do they show what a reserve might be. All they show is what a lot will open at.

And Spiro was never convicted.

A nolo contendere plea has the same immediate effects as a plea of guilty, but may have different residual effects or consequences in future actions. For instance, a conviction arising from a nolo contendere plea is subject to any and all penalties, fines, and forfeitures of a conviction from a guilty plea in the same case, and can be considered as an aggravating factor in future criminal actions.

Yeah, lets defend someone who clearly committed criminal conspiracy, bribery, extortion and tax fraud.

Well it looks like a pretty high percentage of the material so far in the sale, is actually selling. That's a pretty good sign.

Realizations are pretty strong so far I think. Glad to see it, despite the occasional messy item this really is a collection with lots of rare material.

Prices were good. Some records set for a couple of uber rare items. Heck, even the items like 241 and 242 went far beyond what they were worth. A fun sale. Cue Rev..........

I saw a few items go for more than typical price too. Such a weird collection (as already discussed) when the stamp immediately following a 1.4 million dollar sale sells for $220. But yeah, I thought overall it did very well. Only one or two really high value items skipped I think. I think the 482A on cover skipped, maybe a coil pair in there somewhere also, but that's about it.

Some of the genuine rarities went very well, and the best quality stamps went well, and the rest went from 10%-30% of cat. Or closed.

The $2 Trans-Miss, after buyer premium, sold for about 60% CV, with a thin. That one surprised me.

This was a strong sale in general, stronger than I thought it'd be. Congrats to the consignor and to Cherrystone.
