Different people have said different marks and I wonder if looking at the attached stamp someone can tell me if this is proper or what I can do to correct my measurements. am I measuring from the right point or do I need to be higher or lower?

Absolutely no reason to measure that stamp. The perforations are much more important in IDing

There is no value for you in measuring your stamp, the tolerances are far too small to be useful. I assume that you want to ID your stamp; your time is best invested in reading this article http://www.stampsmarter.com/learnin...arities.html

Also with this issue it really helps to add a scan of the back of the stamp.
