Was the auction house Alan Blair? Would not like to steer anyone in the wrong direction potentially. Except for the Zepps which are history nothing pictured is worth much effort or $$. Foreign unlikely to yield much in value but some scans of the earlies would tell all.

The c note isn't so bad but leaving the Zepps in the collection I think would have been beneficial in moving the entire lot. Need to see more of the collection but I do not think the stress and too much effort is warranted. General stamp collections are often high on enjoyment for the collector low on monetary value and a pain for the inheritor.

There's only a few dollars in value in the stamps you scanned so far. Maybe something like $10 for all of the stamps in the scans.

I won't exactly call it a scam, as it is a willing buyer and seller scenario. But they are certainly capitalising on your ignorance which many dealers will do out there. When selling any item, doing one's due diligence is a must. I paid US$260 for my $2.60 zepp cover alone, not to mention the other good stuff you have in your collection.

Most disheartening. They are an excellent company. I am a big fan. I would have to know a whole lot more to comment further or contact the firm so I will not. Good info for all and to all don't do that.

I would not call it a scam, but 'taking total advantage' at best. If it went down as described, this is not good for the hobby and certainly is not good for the buyer's reputation.

I'll say it. They took you for a ride.

Unlike many of the nefarious eBay dealers, I am thinking that many folks in this community will not get involved in this thread for fear of damaging their relationship with Kelleher. But I hope that someone will notify Kelleher and that Kelleher will respond to this thread and present their side of the story.

It would be very helpful to know the person that was dealt with first.

The guy at Kelleher that set up the meeting was Max, the guy I met with was Glenn. Myself, knowing nothing of the stamp world, decided it was best to just let the issue go and not reach out to Kelleher. But it seems the consensus here would deem this unusual behavior for this company. I wpuld be happy to reach out to them and make them aware of my experience.

My analysis is that Kelleher specialises in selling big lots and their dealings should often be with dealers who purchase big lots. Assuming that the zepps posted are the only things of any real value in the collection you sold (probably can retail at $400-500), then paying a hundred bucks might be justified from the dealer's perspective.
