One more go-around with these stamps to get them all sorted out and then I will cease filling up the forum (for now). The stamp below was expertized by PSE in 1997 as US 26 but type II. Is this another example of numbers/varieties being redefined/changed since my impression from the Scott catalog and looking at the stamp is that it is indeed a 26 but Type III.

The next ragged stamp looks like a 25 due to the bottom frame line; I don't have a cert. The third stamp has a color similar to the 25, but the frame line (in my cloudy eyesight) looks like it could be Type III (26) or Type IV (26A). My scanner doesn't do much of a job to make the colors look like they actually do (the 26 above is lighter and more "orangy" than either of these two).

Would appreciate any help in confirming, clarifying or correcting any of this. Thank you again.

With the promotion of the inner framelines variety to a major number in the mid-2000s, the old type II noted here became type III. The stamp is still #26.

Your three stamps are Type III, Type I, and Type IV, respectively. Or, #26, #25, and #26A.

Thanks again for the replies and useful information. I had acquired these a while ago and lost my detailed inventory when my laptop blew up (remember to always backup) so I'm in the process of rebuilding it. Your help is greatly appreciated.
