In another thread, Quigngt asked about sheep on stamps in Australia.
(Well what else were you expecting with a title like this)

Here are all the stamps I could find in the catalogue that had sheep or lambs in them. Sorry about the quality of the pics, they were taken straight from the catalogue.

They use to say "Australia rides on the sheeps back" and even today
we have over 100 million sheep, 5 for every person.

Please feel free to show sheep stamps from other countries.

Actually, Quigngt asked about stamps on sheep. I was expecting an explanation of how many stamps it took to mail a sheep, and whether these were collected on piece or on cover.

Other countries have their mail order brides; mail order sheep didn't seem implausible...

As a collector of Australian stamps I'm amazed at how many of these I don't have. Although the pictured stamps are more modern, I'd better get busy. Thanks for the pics Triggersmob.

Those are some nice looking stamps.
I didn't know there were all that many different kinds of sheep.

Excellent Don Quixote stamp (with sheep) rod222.
