I am working on publishing pages for Sardinia. SCF-Forum member 'perf12' has done some very good analysis of the genuine and forgery characteristics.

Here is the characteristics for your particular stamp:

Yes, all Italian States are a minefield of forgeries and reprints. And the genuine were printed many times over often leading to worn plates.

Wow. I would love to buy the book whenever it is finished.
I figured all the Italy States would be rampant with forgeries. Thank you.

Thank you for your in depth reference! I would of gladly paid you 15 bucks for this in PDF format.

Let me know when your book is finished. Please.

Could you do the same with the Washington and Franklin's?

I am guessing it is genuine looking at the shortness of the goatee.

I won't publish a book. Everything will be freely available on the website - stampforgeries.com

Regarding your stamp, I reached a different conclusion :-)
