It looks like Stuart Weitzman, the current owner of the world's most valuable stamp, the British Guiana 1c Magenta, is going to add his signature to the back of the stamp.

The back of this stamp is covered already with signatures, and owner handstamps from prior owners.

This is the stamp:

This is the event coming up:

You can see what the back already looks like:

The front of the stamp apparently faded quite a bit during Dupont's ownership.

Be glad the guy does not own an original copy of the Declaration Of Independence.

More like bragging - "I helped destroy this remarkable stamp!"- By signing it.

Geees, if everybody did that with their stamps they own do you think the value would improve. No, just the opposite effect.

If its history you want to help, preserve it as much as possible in its original state and have your picture taken with it for hanging on the wall. Why not have a book to go with the stamp that has the previous owners names in it.

At this point, the back of the stamp is much more interesting than the front.

I saw the videos on Mystic Stamp's facebook page. I can't believe he signed it. Makes me cringe.

I'm shocked at seeing this and just don't understand why on earth you'd want to do this on such an iconic/treasure stamp? Well why not wash the stamp with javel water to remove the dirt or stains on the stamp while he's at it.

Eventually the back of the stamp will completely be covered if this keeps up.

Possibly illustrates the difference between an "Investor" and a "Philatelist"
