Any idea why this seller thinks this collection is worth what he is asking? Yeah it looks nice but.. I see some short sets. Either there is some good stuff he didn't picture or he is just throwing out a price and hoping. Ideas?

Have you seen the prices for his other items? High comedy. This might be worth fifty quid if you wanted the albums.

Obviously, the seller has no idea. Nothing truly valuable is shown and seller notes he/she is estimating the collection at an average of $3 a stamp.

You're experienced enough that you should not be surprised at eBay stupidity. This post is, in the end, truly unnecessary and unuseful.

No I am not surprised at this stuff. However unlike you, I can see the humor in this. If it bothers you, don't look at it.

I honestly wondered if I missed something, this just seemed so far fetched. After looking at the seller's feedback it appears he is reselling stuff he buys at estate and garage sales. I'd bet he checked out a Scott catalog from his library and spent days cataloging these stamps and thinks he can ask full catalog.

Hey it's cheap entertainment.

The listing is worded awkwardly and ungrammatically, he refers to albums as "books," it's overpriced by a wide margin, and so on. It's a listing by a not very bright person who is not very familiar with stamps. Cars are listed this way all the time with absurdly high prices based on the "You never know" theory of life.

Much the same hopelessly optimistic thinking that results in the frequent "I think I have incredibly rare X variety" posts.
