I guess I'm just a bit thick, but I haven't been able to figure out what the cancel "Al Cance" describes on Spanish stamps. Google translation didn't help me. Can't find that as a place. Will someone please help me. Thank you.

Casas de Alcance is an area west of Valencia. Maybe that helps ?

Hi EdziuMM,

This is probably a Madrid cancellation: ALCANCE NORTE / MADRID

Here's a postcard from the Internet with an example:

SCOPE: Extraordinary mail dispatched by administrations to reach the ordinary at a certain point and deliver the correspondence that said ordinary mail could not transfer, for having been deposited in the post office after the departure of the same.

I've seen "ALCANCE" marks translated as "LATE FEE" which I guess fits with the the Spanish text in perf12's link.

Also "buzůn de alcance", late fee postbox or late collection box etc.
