I came across this stamp over the weekend in a mix I've been going through. So far I haven't been able to identify it. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dale

Yep, Scott #294. Same design in blue is #293. It is Mt. Ararat

Thank you GeoffHa and rdavid!

I believe this is my first stamp from Armenia. The mixture I pulled it from has generated some nice surprises. I still have another pound or so left to sort.

Who says mixtures can't be fun?

Sorry, but this is a forgery, more common than the actual stamp. For this design and value, see:

hy-brasil,

Thank you for the additional information. I was trying to determine whether mine was genuine or not this morning, but not enough coffee had made it into my brain yet.

I'll revise my earlier assessment, and say this is my first Armenian forgery.

Still a happy find in a mix I wish had been larger.

Dale

I'd still keep it and be pleased with it; I collect forgeries, and this is a good reference item in any case. Hope there are more like this in the mix. Not necessarily forgeries(!) but a few stamps from some of the more obscure places is always nice. Happy hunting!
