All this talk of squirrels on stamps has made me hungry! Now I want to see what they eat.

Hmmm..I need a major update.

When a nut is a seed.
Nuts are defined as a simple, dry fruit with one seed (very occasionally two) in which the seed case wall becomes very hard at maturity. True nuts include pecan, sweet chestnut, beech, acorns, hazel, hornbeam and alder.

Peanuts, almonds, pistachios, cashews, horse chestnuts and pine nuts are not nuts.

Quote:
True nuts include pecan,

Seen another scientist refer to this as a seed.
also...Macadamia Nut (seed)
I don't think this thread will get far, seems not many examples are true "Nuts"

Macadamia Seeds?.....Hmmm loses its appeal.

I think if you can allow chipmunks in the squirrel thread, you can let the odd macadamia slip through here.
