Astonishing! well picked up G.O.
It passed me by.

PS: Not sure if you consider this an error ?

Rod

IMO it should be considered an error. However, without a specimen of this issue that properly displays the artwork there would be nothing unique about this individual stamp. If all stamps of this issue contain the same feature the error is just a footnote.

Here is a set from my folklore collection called "Love of Freedom", issued by Liberia on April 12, 1949:

This set was designed by the Polish-Jewish artist Arthur Szyk (1894-1951), known for his unique and colorful drawings. I was lucky to won a set of sheets of these stamps signed by Szyk. Here is one of them for example:

Thanks, Rod, for sharing these labels. Arthur Szyk had a unique and unusual design style , like the Liberian stamps I posted. Other unique deign you can see in the only set of stamps he designed for Israel. It is a set of two identical stamps shows the four species issued on August 31, 1950 to celebrate the New Hebrew Year:

The four species are four plants mentioned in the Torah (Leviticus 23:40) held together and waved in a special ceremony during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.
