A few Mexico Exporta Stamps caught my eye as I sorted - so I decided to organize a few variations - thinking this will be straight forward…uh no…wow - Seems to be a great deal of variation, colors, denominations. I think I have a good start to the collection but have a ton to learn about these stamps. Any additional info anyone has is appreciated. Nora.

Hi mrita75

Download my Mexico tables. They should help with the Exporta series.
The only thing I ask is that they are not published. They are only for personal use. These tables were developed for use in my friend's stamp store.

1. Go to the following link
https://app.box.com/s/7ydeclbexsaekclmrrhn

2. Left Click on StampRefs
3. Left Click on CentralAmerica
4. Right Click on Mexico
5. Left Click on Download

It use to be easier but something changed on Box.

To download all the tables, at step 2 Right Click StampRefs

One of my favorite series although I have a long way to go to sort my material by papers. I bought a set of 14 blocks from a Mexico dealer representing the 14 different papers for reference. Obviously not every issue exists on all 14 papers. There are more than 300 combinations, as I recall. A seller in Mexico named etiangui developed (I believe) the original reference for this set, which constituted his price list. Nowadays, he sells the reference on eBay:

I had a free copy at one time but lost it in cyberspace.

I have been squirrelling away these stamps for ages., they tick all the boxes for me.

A country with a fascinating history
A long running definitive series
Attractive designs
Cheap to collect - they come up regularly in mixed lots and accumulations

The information here is tremendous and I'm excited to start organising my accumulation. I'm enjoying this a lot, thanks to everybody posting here.

Hello all.

One of my Exporta stamps (and I have quite a few) has these very visible blue threads. Can someone point me in the right direction on the paper type. This is the only one of my 200+ that has such evident threads. Thank you.

EDIT: I found it - Granite Paper!

That is granite paper. They are listed in the Scott catalog. For the specialists, of the 14 papers used for Exportas, that is paper 9.
