Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could drive cars with the help of solar panels? Perhaps in the future.

Another stamp featuring solar power and perhaps water power below the sun. United Nations 1981, at a time when solar energy was still new.

Aruba has been working to become energy independent and CO2 neutral. Large solar panel installations such as the one at the airport are now commonplace!

The technology for collecting Solar energy was already being rapidly developed decades ago. It was a hot topic at the Knoxville World's Fair in 1982.

A beautiful sunset over Sri Pada (Adam's Peak) in Sri Lanka. The lake with the waterlily is most likely Lake Mausakelle, which lies just east of the holy mountain. 1972 on Republic Day, May 22

On November 8, 1977 India issued this stamp (Sc #775) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The UPSC is India's chief recruiting agency for federal appointments and examinations.

On February 11, 2009 Singapore issued a set of five, "Let's Celebrate" greetings stamps. One of stamps (S.G. #1831) features two lovers seen through a Champagne glass under the summer sun.

This set of 2 stamps (Sc #s 53-4)was issued on April 20, 1901 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Insurrection of Independence against the Ottoman Empire, which began on April 20, 1876. The uprising led to the re-establishment of the country in 1878.

On January 4, 1993 Spain issued this 28 peseta, environmental protection-themed stamp (Sc #2694) which includes a stylized sun.
