This is the earliest example in my collection, however it does not have an identifier of Western Test Range or the typical NASA/WTROD on the cover as all of the following examples do. Additionally the payload failed to reach polar orbit.

This is the first cover in my collection which bears Western Test Range in the cachet design.A US-Canada join venture to study the ionosphere.

This example contains a variant KSC Western Test Range text

This cover was an US- UK joint effort to study the upper ionosphere and magnetic storms.

Now this example has the correct cancellation But the hand stamped date within the cachet its self is incorrect. This is verified by using McMahan's Philatelic History of the Conquest of Space reference,#4473.01.15. Enjoy.
