Hi Rod I have many Revenue stamps from MX. One has tequila overprinted :) but I do not think I have a Beer Tax Stamp. I did find this one online - Beer Tax stamp Veracruz.

That was for a complete set of 11.
That is the type of thing that makes a prudent investment.
(If one collects for money, rather than passion)

Need to chase up "Roberts" catalogue, for Mexican revenues, see what that retails for these days.

This may keep you happy Mrita.

Yes, I need that book :) - I actually had read the chat, loved it. I also found some Album pages that I can print for MX Revenues, however I have not made a decision on MX album approach.

Any members aware of the numbering system on Mexican Stamps?
How did they work?
I was surprised to see Mr. Katz' numbered stamp, identical to my own.
I am presuming every sheet had the same number perhaps?

All sorted.
1864 required a Consignment number and date on regional stamps.
Hence these are consignment 131 of 1866 (866)
These needed further validation by a stamp office handstamp.
The consignment number may identify the area used.

Thanks Jill,

(Silent L)

Two nice links, but what is this with "imperforated"
For a single stamp should it not be a noun, Imperforate.

So Ixtlahuaca, can be consignment 131, or, struck with 9, as a district.
