I am looking for Cannabis stamps from each of the provinces for my collection.
Can anybody recommend some sites that are selling Cannabis stamps other than EBay?

Thanks, Brice

I bet if I changed the title of this thread to 'Looking For Cannabis' it would get more views!

I was about to respond with sources but I was sidetracked watching cloud formations while eating Doritos.

Maybe not in Colorado or Oregon!

As you can see the revered octogenarians of this fine site find your request amusing but are not helpful. Perhaps their responses were written after pouring themselves a wee dram (after tearing off the excise stamp, of course.) Some of the nicest Canadian stamps are the engravings for the tax on tobacco, which has, in turn, become an anathema.

A few here have tried to stir up interest in the cannabis stamps, with no success. You can find various topics on the subject here at the StampCommunity.

I believe eBay is your best source at the moment, though Deveney (BC) has sold some.
I will be happy to send you a QC one free if you need it.

And welcome to the forum! This is a great place with a lot of very nice guys. Trust me!

Sak, I think the interest is there, but as I understand it the real problem is access to the stamps. Aren't they used to seal the product in it's container, and destroyed when opening the container?

It also seems that the people who pay for the cannabis stamps are not aware someone may want them. Maybe letting the distributer know that there is interest in the used stamps, they could pass that info along. Offer a reward?

Littleriverphil...
The interest is dampened because a) it's a revenue stamp (not popular like most BOB), b) they are expensive if bought from a supplier and c) the typical cannabis user is not likely a philatelist.

I have a neighbour who smokes it and has no use for the stamps. He indulges me by letting me cut the stamp from the cardboard wrapping. That's why I could offer a free one to Bricek (if he'd enter his email address;)
The StampCommunity has discussed getting them off plastic containers somewhere - I have not tried to do that, but understand that it is tricky.

I am not so sure. There are a number of octogenarians in the both the dialysis center and the chemo infusion center that I go to that are smoking pot; and neither medical or recreational use is legal in the state that I live in. When suffering through nausea for so long that puking feels as normal as breathing, smoking some pot can be a Godsend and literally keep you alive.

And some of the folks who are in their 60 and 70 now were pot smoking hippies back in the 1960s. Even my mother, who was a part of the 'reefer madness' era and is now in her 80s, has asked me about smoking pot for pain relief.

I have a number of Ontario ones still attached to the cardboard box the product comes in. That's what you typically see for sale online. I'm sure they could be soaked off, although haven't tried it as yet. Would be open to trading for ones from another province/territory, email me if interested.

Along the line of stamps vs postal history ... it seems logical to try to save revenue stamps on the package item they taxed. Why is everyone seemingly soaking their tobacco and cannabis stamps?

Bricek's profile is configured correctly but forum rules prohibit messaging until a user has 50+ posts.
