Please see below for picture of my collection from this series. Can someone help with info on this, and how many am I missing from completing this set?

The Transportation Coils. You are missing quite a few, but why not look in a catalog for what you are lacking ?

Do you have a Scott catalog? A US Specialized from 2008-2014 would only cost $10-$20 and would have the answers for you. It would be a worthwhile investment. BTW, the last stamp in your photo is a 3.4 cent stamp.
Wikipedea has a list of the basic numbers though many of them were printed with differences so the Scott catalog will still be needed. |

I remember setting up a spreadsheet so that I could keep track of which varieties I had & which I still needed. A quick look revealed 59 major varieties. Throw gum types, tagging & various precancels into the mix and the number of collectable varieties almost doubles. Then there are the imperf & tagging omitted errors … which just about triples the original count. |

Thank you Don, that link is a great resource. Also I just ordered this on eBay for less than $15. |

Stampboy life - thanks for sharing your US Scott catalogue buy - I might look into that myself. I waited a bit to get my first catalogue, but now that I have a Scott Specialized Catalogue 1840-1940 (WW) I am learning so much and wow it makes things so much easier. You will be really pleased with it! |

stampboylife,
Get a catalog from Mystic Stamp Company. They're free. What you have up there is the Transportation Series. It is one of the best (in my opinion) sets you can buy. It ranks up there with the Liberty, Presidential, etc sets.

Although the catalog from Mystic is free they send you some cheap approvals along with. You can send them back or purchase them, either way, if you don't want any more approvals, be sure to clearly write "Cancel Approvals" on the return. Otherwise Mystic just keeps sending them. The last approval lot took me 2 times to get me off their list. If you get the catalog, ignore the prices they have listed. Those are retail times 200%. YMMV. Good luck! Wolf-==- |

Approvals are stamps sent to you purchase. For approvals you request (as opposed ones you did not request), you are obligated to return the stamps you do not purchase. Mystic will say they will send you offers if you request a catalog and the offers come in the form of approvals. |

Thanks Don - yes I have used the stamp smarter glossary quite a bit. I didn't realize the glossary on here - very helpful. |

stampwolf, You are correct. They will stop sending you approvals but WILL still send you catalogs. About six a year.

Why are the transport coils such odd fractional prices? Will these stamps feature in a Scott specialized USA catalog of 1999?
