gmot: Were they mint plate blocks? Ever since these stamps were newly classified as dry (Stickney) rotary press printed rather than dry (Hoe) flat plate press printed interest in them has greatly increased. See http://goscf.com/t/60662

Thanks for the link, interesting. Yes, they were, 2 from plate 1 and one from plate 3, IIRC. Came in a recent auction lot, I kept a mint single for my collection as I don't collect blocks. Perhaps I should have asked more for them :).

Hi all. A question was raised by Wert regarding identifying a used copy. Can I assume that the image would be a mm or so smaller than the dry printing because of shrinkage??
