Rod, that Danish flag perfin is great!

I believe the "wave pattern" perfins on the second row are from the State School of Design. I had some correspondence with them as a younger fellow and the distinctive pattern must have made an impression on me.

Cheers Bob,
I had it 3rd in my appeal, the Crown perfin, I thought a doozy, one of the best I have seen followed by the more common, but always eye catching, the Maltese cross.

Thanks for the Wave pattern ID, saved in my records...

PS: Half way through the Danish TV series "Borgen"
Gee, the Danes make fabulous TV.

These stamps were used on freight receipts and also letters on the DSB lines.

Hi Rod,

I've just seen your post on the Danish 1963 emergency stamp.

I enjoyed the article by Otto Hornung.

(I wish we could have discussed some of our Ottoman questions with the great man.)

It reminded me that I had a couple of the folders containing the stamps that were made available as he described.

Here are the front and back of one of the folders.

It's about the size of postcard:

"Folder" is perhaps too grand a word for this as it's basically a printed card that's been folded once.

There is more info on the inside along with one or more mint stamps in a glassine envelope stuck to the card with a sticky label.

I have one with one stamp and another with a horizontal pair of stamps.

The image on the front appears to be the one in your post.

Identical
Hello Nigel, yes, Otto Hornung is amongst my favourite Philatelic journalists,
he wrote for "Australian Stamp news" for many years.
He was responsible for putting "meat" on the hobby of stamp collecting for me personally with his "bon mots" and behind the scenes stories.

One of our members here, Eunice Shanahan continues on with great journalism, with her pieces on British pre stamp letters an covers.

I was not aware he was a Turkish aficionado.

Thanks for the card...saved

I should have....albeit, this (dated 2004) I saved, but was prior to me collecting Turkey.
