Hi George,
Ahhhh, did not see 33! :)
In fact there are three catalogue and conversion list exist for each Number. That is why I always use study group reference when a PF is not in Michel Special.

IMO It is a little bit awkward that Michel doesn't include/reference their catalog #s in the MICHEL-Handbuch-Katalog PFENNIGE. |

Hi hornet. I am sure you are correct. The authors and study group are listed and credited in the handbook's preface.
Still, I think an appendix or cross-reference would be an improvement. |

Found this one today. It is not listed by Michel, but is listed and illustrated in Schantl's BRD and Berlin PlattenFehler Catalog. It is Berlin Mi #269 from the 1965 Brothers Grimm semi-postal set. Catalog says, "additional black line under the tail in the blue, field 23, form number1, part of the print run." |

Hi cupram,
Yes you are right. Only one color. So one color known for this Nr. and all PF known so far are on this color. By default the color is a. So in Albrecht's Catalogue you'll see color a for Nr. in single color. Stamps with multiple colors, you will find some PF only on a particular color.

Nice one cupram1 Here is an oldie. It is the 2 1/2 groschen surcharge issue of 1874, Mi #29 PF I. Michel says "1 of '1/2' in surcharge shifted left, position 114, position 141." The Klein, Hesselbarth, and Sommer Plate Flaws of the Breast Shield Stamps handbook goes into greater detail and illustrates two types of the plate flaw. The first (sheet position 114) is a shift of .2 mm to the left. The handbook refers to this as "1a". Note also that this stamp appears to be a "klein" (short) variety. I am skeptical about this. The handbook shows the position 141 plate flaw to be a more severe shift of the "1" to the left. My measurement indicates that this second stamp is a "1b", .9mm from the large "2". |

Hi bookbndrbob, I asked in a previous thread (I can't find it) how these measurements are made. 1 displaced 0.2 mm to the left-what is the reference axis? the axis of symmetry of the bar between 1 and 2? or the axis of symmetry of 2? I'm still unclear how to measure
