Plate 20 by chance? The extended serif on the K from the registration sheet is throwing me off though. Not sure on the Vg upper right either. Thanks for looking. |

MANCHESTER Type ll Maltese Cross (Elongated leg of central star) Could also be DUNDEE albeit dot in off-set centre is just not big enough or quite in the right position. The Maltese cross die, was attached to the wooden handle, by a central Pin, sometimes the pin head carries ink to the impression. @Stamps4Life,
What registration sheet did you look at? IK has been removed from the sheet. |

Sorry for the brief reply - I was on a phone. Also, I misspoke. While I did say registration sheet, in fact, I think its a scan as identified as one from the sheet. I need to clarify with the seller as its not explained 100percent. But its my understanding that they are scans of missing imprimatur stamps. Here is the screenshot. I will report back after confirmation. |

It does look like the two stamps are from the same plate. I have no access to my Specialised. Was this position repaired? |

I see some mention of recut corners, but no repairs per se. Confusing to me as I cant match the IK with much else....
EDIT: in the mention of reentries, recut corners, IK is not called out / mentioned specifically as an example like other positions. |

So here is a 1d red EG. Alph II I believe and thats all I can guess. The "E" looks like it was and F ?!? I see nothing close at all!! And while I know this is not a PM thread , that too looks a little strange - yes? Any tips welcome. |

By the looks, the postmark is a numeral 11 inland office diamond, upside down in relation to the stamp. |

I agree with Bobby's observation.
@Stamps4Life
I understand why you write it looks like the E was an F, but I do not really see that. The bottom stroke of the E looks weak. The cancellation also creates an appearance of weakness. I think that creates the effect you observe.
A registration sheet (normally) is printed early on in the life of a plate. The plate wears down. Sometimes, it is repaired. When the wear is too advanced, the plate is destroyed. Not all stamps match up with the registration sheet. However, wandering letters, rays and frame lines should be impossible. The problem with a repair is that lines can be re-enforced after the printing of the registration sheet. So, weaker lines can be due to wear - and at the bottom of the letter especially, due to repair by re-entry -. Stronger lines can be due to repair.
Never expect your copy to be an exact copy of the registration sheet stamp. Your SG Specialised will also state not all repairs may be known. |

Thank you both. The 11 numerals - the top seriffs looked a bit odd. Especially the one that looks to be at a 45 degree angle - on the right. On the letters, I did look for repairs, etc and while not expecting an exact replica, I see nothing close so far. It just sticks out as odd. Will look more today. |
