Looks like a case of 'tin shed' flaws.

Agree with that, probably splashes of either glue or water on the paper before printing.

Did the NSW printers work out af a 'tin shed' or was it just the Victorians?

Tasnaki.

The classic 'tin shed' was the Commonwealth Stamp Printer's Office in Melbourne at the time but the same root cause can be attributed to any sheet of stamps where great care has not been taken to avoid spillage of gum etc. on to the sheets.

I have several copies, as yet not plated but dated copies suggest plate 6.

If anyone has this in a pair or block please post it here or contact me!

Scans of any pairs or blocks would be greatly appreciated.

Is anyone able to help with this one? It appears to be a major crack in the top frame at the right of the crown.

I have only seen 1 copy so may be a one off has anyone seen another one?

40. White flaws in upper shading and missing 3rd pearl in crown at right (Watermark 68).

This particular example is unusual in that it also appears to have had the shading lines in the upper left section of the shield retouched at the right.

I have not seen this one before. I have allocated this as UCV121 for now.

Could you please send me scans of your copies for the record.
