Agree with that, probably splashes of either glue or water on the paper before printing.
Did the NSW printers work out af a 'tin shed' or was it just the Victorians?

The classic 'tin shed' was the Commonwealth Stamp Printer's Office in Melbourne at the time but the same root cause can be attributed to any sheet of stamps where great care has not been taken to avoid spillage of gum etc. on to the sheets. |

Is anyone able to help with this one? It appears to be a major crack in the top frame at the right of the crown. I have only seen 1 copy so may be a one off has anyone seen another one?   Tasnaki |
