Very interesting find there, Tasnaki.
It certainly looks like something has been attached to the plate to fill the hole.
Have you been able to plate that flaw as yet? |

Not one I've seen yet, I have done very little on the WM40 plates yet.
I will note it as a constant flaw in my database.
Tasnaki. |

The plate crack in the lower right corner is listed in the ACSC 2004 'Kangaroos and the Early Federal Period' catalogue. The listing notes the location as Plate 6? Pane ?/5/4. Tasnaki, I wonder if you have found the location of this flaw more definitively than the catalogue or if this joined pair helps? |

No confirmed position yet. I have this crack in the top row of the block below: These are the identified flaws for the two positions you posted: I have seen the scan below marking the position as 6B-28 but have not yet seen any firm evidence to support this plating. This scan appears to be from a block and I am trying to get a full scan of it. Hopefully as I do more work on this plate I will be able to confirm position. Tasnaki |

I also have this one showing a later state with extensive damage to the crown and top frame scrolls. Tasnaki |

I have this crack in the top row of the block below: It's a shame there isn't a flaw on another stamp in that big block that might unlock the mystery! |

I am reasonably confident that it will be plated when I spend more time on the material I have for plate 6 My current focus is completing the write up for plate 4, I hope to have a first draft in a couple of weeks.
