Recently there have been a few fur parcel tags listed on eBay. They were from the 1960s.

Does anyone know if these were sent at the normal parcel post rates or was there a special rate for these.

An image of the tags would help. Thanks!

In the case of the U.S. Insured Tag, this was a 4th Class Mail, Insured, Parcel Post Mail shipment.

Hi,

I only have the information from the 1955 Canada Postal Guide. There it states that furs go by ordinary parcel post. There is no special rate.

There is the exception: "339. Raw hides or pelts having an offensive odour and all other articles having an offensive or noxious odour are prohibited."

Thank you very much that is the info I was looking for.

That exception 339 does not seem very surprising but I suppose they had to cover that in the regulations
