Most auction houses will not pass on paying say 10-20% of cv outright because an owner desires quick cash. |

If everything was consigned, all the estate needs to do is close his store and everything will disappear, rather than trying to remove items one by one. What am I missing here? |

Kelleher says that the folks responsible for taking down the ebay/hip auctions have not taken them all down yet. They have possession of the stamps in their auction. |

When Linns interviewed David Coogle, this is what was stated: Many collectors might know Langs from his large presence on the eBay and HipStamp marketplaces. Are those listings coming down and being auctioned off by Kelleher? "Yes that is correct. We are currently inventorying the extensive listings and identifying those items no longer available and items that will be listed in auction being removed from sale on eBay and HipStamp, in addition to his extensive private holdings." https://www.linns.com/news/us-stamp...e-hit-market |

Another thought just crossed my mind: wasn't Bill working with another dealer (Stuart Katz?)? If their stock was somehow combined, perhaps this is a factor in how screwed up this situation sounds, while they try to figure out what belongs to who. |

Docgfd, billsbargaignstamps email I posted earlier in this thread to the same article citation you shared said that they eere WAITING for an inventory before taking things down. I suspect what they're really waiting for is the result of the Kelleher auction. |

I grew up (partially) in Scarsdale and also lived in Hartsdale, and spent many teenage hours at Rye Playland. Up in Hobart (Delaware County) now. |

One aspect I did not see mentioned yet is that all eBay BIN listings are now on Good Til Cancelled so they will automatically renew every month as long as the bill is being paid. Shutting them down individually is a pain (or was until things changed again for everybody recently with the forced payments thing). Since it sounds like new things are going up then they clearly don't want to just close the eBay store. Just a thought |

The store is fully operational and actively managed. Not sure about overlap in materials included in this or the previous auction, but it is clear the intention here is to sell as much as possible through retail channels (ebay/hip). Now if the items are from New Milford (Where Bill's store was), or Danbury (auctionhouse) is another question related to TOS on eBay and who is the rightful owner/steward yet another. Still the question about the ability to sell an item through retail after a bid is submitted on SAN is a question, if these are considered no reserve auctions. That's not clear to me. The idea that a starting bid is a reserve has always been a subject of debate by some, and state's rules on such topics are muddy at best and don't address starting bids. An auction house doesn't have to disclose reserve bids obfuscating transparency around problem intentionally. http://www.watchcount.com/completed...p=&bxp=#serp |

I ordered an inexpensive item from the Lang's store on Hipstamp. Be interesting to see if it comes and where it was shipped from. |

You are brave. Let us know what happens. I assume it was something not obviously in any Kelleher sale. |
