This seller is taking pre-orders for a Forever stamp that has never been officially authorized by the USPS.

In my opinion, this constitutes fraud.

The United States Post Office allows you to make custom postage stamps from your own photos, but you must use one of the organization's approved third-party vendors. As explained on the U.S.P.S. website, custom stamps can be designed and purchased from PhotoStamps, PictureItPostage and Zazzle.

This is probably what was done.

Personalized U.S. postage ended on June 16. Unless this seller got in an order before then it is too late to create them.

I didn't realize that the end of personalized postage was so funny. Different strokes, I guess.

Same seller must have duplicate listing. This is pure fraud in my opinion. Seller should be banned from eBay.

This is all much ado about nothing.

Exploring DV75's theory a little closer ... Looking at the seller's "completed items" he first listed this offer in very early June and has relisted it regularly ever since. Clearly the seller had the opportunity and ordered these personalized stamps BEFORE the mid-June end of the personalized stamp program. No conspiracy. No fraud. No story here.

John Becker: Completely disagree. This listing description states "Preorder your sheet of 20 USA George Floyd forever postage stamps due for release on June 20th. These are a limited run of only 200 sheets and will sell out quickly. Please allow two weeks for delivery."

An average user does not know these could be personalized stamps. The seller does not indicate if they are or not. An average buyer would reasonably assume they are regular USPS stamps that are were issued on June 20th.

The first listing got removed because most people assumed it was fraudulent.

Agree with you Torin. Deceptive at best, fraud at worst.

The seller's description in his lot listing posted approximately June 3 stated:

Quote:
Preorder your sheet of 20 USA George Floyd forever postage stamps due for release on June 20th. These are a limited run of only 200 sheets and will sell out quickly.
Please allow two weeks for delivery.

He has left this unchanged through his many relistings even though the calendar has advanced. You may not like the product, but I see no fraud here. Why is this such an issue to you?

It certainly could be better written but it's no worse then what some major auction houses do with many graded stamps. It's just puffery.

John Becker: I don't care about the topic of the stamp. I despite deception and fraud and there was no George Floyd stamp released by the USPS on June 20. I have also never heard of the USPS having a limited production of only 200 stamps.

Torin, I believe he is anticipating the receipt of HIS order of personalized George Floyd stamps and when he will be able to release them to buyers.
