I came across this US stamps which appears to be 400A and a pre-cancel for San Francisco. I cannot find a value for the stamps in Scott catalog so it must be listed elsewhere. It has a hinge but OG and probably fine quality.

The Scott U.S. Specialized catalog is only a semi-specialized catalog, despite the title. That is the value for organizations like the Precancel Stamp Society and the International Machine Cancel Society and their extensive literature which goes far beyond Scott.

In the case of the partial slogan cancel, see William J. Bomar's "Postal Markings of United States Exposition", which lists on-cover values for these. Yours is an advertising slogan and *not* an "exposition station" cancel as listed in Scott. It has no particular premium as a soaked-off single.

eyeonwall - us precancel people don't care much about the back - so hinged, NH, NG will not matter to these (on modern Bureau prints there is some interest in NH). Precancelled with gum is still considered a used stamp.
