Hi all,
I'm working through a nice pile of India States stamps and having difficulty differentiating the Jaipur issues 1931 vs 1932-46, 1/4a and 1a values.
According to my Scott both issues are unwatermarked with the same colours.
Attached is a scan.
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Mick

These are all Jaypur 1932 ĽA Mormukutsinh Sawaisinh Kachhwaha (1912–1970) brown lake and black lithograph (SG 58/Sc 36).

No Jaypur stamp with ĽA denomination depicting MS Kachhwaha (Sc vignette type A6) was issued in the 1931 Investiture series.

The 2nd stamp was used in Sikar and 4th one in Jaypur.

Jaypur 1932-46 issue includes both POSTAGE and POSTAGE & REVENUE inscriptions.

For example, Jaypur 1932 1A Sc 37 shows POSTAGE & REVENUE whereas Jaypur 1932 1A Sc 37A POSTAGE, both having otherwise identical size, color, perf. and design.

The 1/4a of the Investiture series of 1931 is Scott design type A5, not A6.
